The technology world and Artificial Intelligence has a trust problem. But before we start solving it with the same brute force that created the problem, let’s pause and ask, are we trustworthy? To be trustworthy, we need to start with responsibility.
What does equity & inclusion looks like in technology and AI? How do we remove barriers to entry? Demystify and talk about technology and AI in a way that is accessible and understandable? Create spaces for people with different levels of expertise to bump into each other and dialogue?
To build trusted AI we need to build trust in the people behind AI. Sometimes it’s a simple step that gets us going in the right direction. Get beyond talking to doing. For trust and AI, could we start with integrating trust into AI design instead of considering it optional? And now instead of waiting for regulations later? After all, do we wait for regulations to innovate?
Can we make innovating responsibly our new habit, reimagine compliance and trust? Integrate it into our culture, our goals, our tools, our metrics, our processes, and our habit of how we build our technology. Fund and prioritize it. Pick the next challenge for us. Exercise this muscle and make a habit of it. Make this our new normal.

Sort out how we did individually and collectively. As a society, as a company, as a community, as governments. What will define us then is what defines us now. Who took advantage of whom?
